IYT Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate

The program Yachtmaster Offshore IYT is not for beginners!


This 11-day comprehensive high-level course includes a 6-day Yachtmaster Offshore theory module — a shore-based program with several assessments and written examinations covering navigation, tidal calculations, COLREGs, meteorology, buoyage, safety, passage planning, and general seamanship knowledge. It is followed by a 5-day practical course, during which you will be expected to demonstrate seamanship skills such as boat handling, docking, navigation, and passage planning.

Requirements


The candidate must be at least 18 years old.


Candidates for the Yachtmaster Offshore course must have at least 3000 nautical miles logged.


50 days on board at sea and 30 hours of night watch.


Candidates must hold a VHF certificate or complete the IYT VHF/SRC course.
