VHF SRC Radio Operator Course - IYT Certificate

All international skipper certificates are issued only if the candidate holds a Short Range Certificate (SRC) - VHF Radio Operator certificate. When chartering a yacht, most charter companies worldwide require at least one person on board to hold a valid VHF/SRC operator certificate.

Steps to Obtain Your IYT VHF/SRC Certificate with Yacht Challenge

Pay the course fee of €160. You will receive access to the online IYT VHF Radio Operator course.


Study the theory online anytime and from anywhere. The course includes sample VHF exam questions to help you prepare.


Take the theoretical VHF test online or complete it during your practical training - the choice is yours.



Register at iytnet.com and provide us with your IYT ID number.




Successfully pass the exam and receive your temporary digital certificate, valid for two months.


Receive your plastic VHF/SRC card (issued in Canada), which will be delivered by post within approximately one month (+ shipping). IYT also offers express three-day processing and courier delivery for an additional fee.

At Yacht Challenge, you can complete your training in English, German, Russian, or Estonian.
