Croatia is paradise for beginners – many good marinas with all facilities, bays for good anchorages, assistance for tourists in marinas. Disadvantages – very high prices in marinas.

Good marinas with full facilities, many safe bays for anchoring, and very clean, clear water. The sailing conditions are pleasant, and the yachting season is long — almost all year round.

YACHT CHARTER for ADVANCED SAILORS:
Greece, Italy, Canary, Caribbean
Crossings across open sea areas are common, and strong wind and sea conditions may occur. Sailing experience and Yachtmaster Coastal or ICC certificates are often required. Not all areas have well-protected marinas. Navigation is generally quite easy.

A few marinas, the most dockings are with anchor. Athens region not recommended in Jul-Sept due very strong wind “Meltemi”. Prices for night near piers are very low.

Difficult navigation with numerous hazards at sea, including many shoals and challenging port entrances. Crossings of open sea areas are common, and strong wind and sea conditions may occur. Sailing experience and Yachtmaster Coastal or ICC certificates are required almost everywhere.

Many shoals, difficult entrances to marinas, locks and drawbridges. There are many well-equipped marinas, and prices are low. If you need a yacht charter with a captain, add €1,200 per week.

North Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean
Very difficult navigation, many dangers at sea, many shoals and rocks, high tides and strong currents, big traffic, crossings of open parts of sea, may be very strong storms, good sailing experience and certificates at least YACHTMASTER COASTAL are required everywhere.

Very difficult navigation with numerous rocks, and strong sea and wind conditions may occur. There are many well-equipped marinas, and prices are low. If you need a yacht charter with a captain, add €1,500 per week.
